Serving Slovakia Details
Welcome!
In 2007, 22 people from New Heights Church headed to Martin, Slovakia, unsure of what was ahead of them. They found a beautiful country, gracious people, the adventure of a lifetime, and a newfound understanding of who God is and how He works in the lives of His people everywhere. We’re eagerly looking forward to returning and serving our Slovak friends!
Serving Slovakia is a short-term mission experience for individuals 18 years of age or older (individuals younger than 18 may be considered if traveling with a parent), that provides an opportunity to see God at work while sharing the love of Christ with the people of Slovakia. This is an exciting and fulfilling way to see how the body of Christ works and how God can use you to make a difference in the lives of others.
Purpose and Plan
Partnering with our friends at the Center for Christian Education, we’ll be spending 2 weeks (July 5 – July 21) in Martin, Slovakia. While there, one team will teach conversational English to citizens from the surrounding area, another team will do light maintenance work to help the CCE prepare for a new school year, and all of us will have the opportunity to serve and encourage our friends at the CCE and the local church.
Team
Our teams will consist of 3-5 EFL teachers, up to 30 conversational “coaches”, and 3-5 maintenance members.
Qualifications and Skills
- Servant heart.
- Flexible spirit.
- 18 years of age or over. (Exceptions can be made for those traveling with an adult.)
