Student Ministries Volunteer Process
We’d love to have you play a role in our Student Ministries– there are all sorts of opportunities to serve. Wondering how to get started? Let us show you a brief run through of our onboarding process.
We desire to keep both students and leaders safe and thus require all staff members and volunteers working with students to complete our 4 Safety Steps before placing you on team.
We know jumping into the discipleship process with students might feel overwhelming or even a little scary. You might feel like you are not equipped, not educated enough, not old enough, too old, or just not ready. Here is what you need to know …
We are called before we are qualified.
Being qualified matters, but being called matters more.
Therefore, we are looking for the called, not necessarily the qualified.
Step One: Screening Process
This step consists of: Volunteer Application, Review of Student Ministries Policies and Procedures Manual, and Reference Checks.
Click the buttons below to apply online, or download and complete the Volunteer Application & Student Ministries Manual, and bring your completed Application & Policy Manual to the church office.
Step Two: Sexual Abuse Awareness Training
In order to equip our staff members and volunteers with a thorough understanding of how to protect a child from sexual abuse or maltreatment, New Heights Church requires all staff and volunteers to complete the Sexual Abuse Awareness Training and Quiz, provided by MinistrySafe.
Step Three: Criminal Background Check
New Heights Church requires that all staff members and volunteers serving with students undergo a criminal background check. Depending upon position, a more thorough background check may be required. Criminal Background Checks are required and must be renewed every two years for staff remembers and volunteers.
Once you have completed Step Two, we will send you our background check form, from Checkr, to fill out.
Step Four: Interview
Once you have completed the first three steps of our onboarding process your final step is an interview. A Student Ministries leader will reach out to you to set up an interview over zoom or in person.
