Frequently Asked Questions
Does New Heights use licensed professionals?Nick Canazzi2023-08-03T15:51:26-07:00
New Heights Counseling does not use licensed professional counselors. Our counseling is rooted in scripture and our methods are interwoven with the Christian faith. While some of our counselors may hold professional licenses, they are not utilizing those licenses in this role as a biblical counselor. We do not provide clinical diagnosis and therapy at New Heights Counseling.
Where are you located?Nick Canazzi2024-05-21T14:21:30-07:00
New Heights Counseling is currently located inside the New Heights Offices in Vancouver, WA. Our address is 8000 NE 58th Ave, Vancouver, WA, 98665
Do you take insurance?Nick Canazzi2023-08-03T15:51:17-07:00
As a biblical counseling organization, we do not take health insurance. We have suggested donations for our services. If finances are a barrier for you, we have a sliding scale and reduced suggested donations.
What forms of payment do you take?Nick Canazzi2023-08-03T15:51:12-07:00
Following your session, you will receive an email with a way to make the suggested donation from a system called Square. This is a secure system that allows you to make a donation using a debit or credit card. The email address that you provide us during intake, is the one that we will use to send these emails out.
Can I see someone immediately?Nick Canazzi2023-08-03T15:51:08-07:00
The first step at New Heights Counseling is to create an account and complete our intake paperwork forms. Once that is completed, we will place you with the next available counselor that is a good fit for your needs. Our waitlist can run 8-12 weeks. If your wait time is likely to be longer than 12 weeks, we will let you know as soon as possible.
We are not an emergency or crisis care facility. If you are experiencing an emergency, call your physician, the police department, or 911.
How do I make an appointment?Nick Canazzi2023-08-03T15:51:03-07:00
To make an appointment, simply click Meet with a Counselor and follow the steps to create an account and complete intake paperwork. If you are pursuing marriage counseling, both parties must create separate accounts and submit paperwork. If you are pursuing counseling for a child/adolescent, please create the account in the name of the person seeking counseling. There are separate intake forms for adults and minors. Please fill out the form pertaining to your situation.
What if I cannot make my appointment?Nick Canazzi2023-08-03T15:50:57-07:00
Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you will be unable to keep your appointment. If you must cancel with less than 24 hours notice, we ask that you provide a suggested donation of $20 for Level 1 counseling and $50 for Level 2 Counseling.
Do you offer remote counseling?Nick Canazzi2023-08-03T15:50:53-07:00
Yes, remote counseling is an option. Please indicate your interest in remote counseling (using video) during your intake paperwork and we will follow up with you.
